Creation

This seems so simple, if you believe in creation you must find away to make it fit.

My thoughts are this, when God created Adam was Adam a new born? No. I don’t know his exact age, but for sake of argument let us say he was 21. Adam was one second old but he was 21 as compared to you & I. His body had a past built into it. His skin wasn’t new born, his hair, we can presume, could be cut, as if it had not just appeared brand new.

Now take that thought & transfer it to all of creation. The universe was created with a past, not a past that actually happened but a past created by God.

The Earth was created with a past. Scientists can say the Earth is such & such old, but only because God created it in that first week with a built in past.

Speed & Time Travel

Speed is measured by numbers, numbers are infinite, you can always add 1, therefore speed is infinite. Maybe not the speed you and I can travel, but something maybe could travel this fast. Now move this something in a circle, traveling faster with each revolution. Soon it is going so fast there is no difference from it's leaving to it's arriving. It happens in an instant. But it can go faster. Add 1 to its speed. Now it is getting there before it leaves. It has traveled back in time. Or does it no longer exist? It had to exist in order to leave, but now where is it? Of course it can slow down until it stops. But where will it be? Will it be destroyed when it gets to the speed where it occupies the same time & space as when it started? If it didn't travel in a circle but in a straight line what would happen? I'll look for answers to these & other questions in future blogs.

Guilt

Why does the press try so hard to make me feel guilty? I drive a truck, a Dakota. I get between 18 and 22 MPG. Gas costs in the neighborhood of $4.00 a gallon. I don't mean to brag but I can afford $4.00 a gallon, doesn't mean I like it. The media is on a campaign that says I should be driving a hybrid car (GUILT) I'm wrecking the environment (GUILT) My continuing to drive a non economical car is bringing down the economy(GUILT) I have a large carbon footprint.

I'm not sure I buy the whole global warming thing any way. It seems in my lifetime we were headed for an ice age not all that long ago. And who is to say what the normal temperature of this planet is suppose to be? I've nothing against trying to clean up our mess. I think we are headed in the right direction, perhaps some encouragement, a pat on the back for getting rid of aerosol sprays, an at ta-boy for using unleaded gas. Change will happen, but don't try to guilt me into something. I don't respond well to these tactics. I might have to find me an old 72 Lincoln or Caddy and then they can eat my exhaust.

Pet Peeve

I live in what is called a rural area, that means we have long driveways and no sidewalks and some people have cows, chickens, goats, horses etc., but we are not a farming community.
And now my peeve. Why do people find it necessary to pull on the wrong side of the road to get there mail? I mean, I know why, but how lazy can you get? With the way Americans are so overweight maybe you could just pull into your driveway get out of your car walk to your mailbox and get your mail, then get back in your car, pull around to your garage press the button automatically opening your garage. Then park your car in your garage that is attached to your house (so you don't have to be outside). Come on people walk to your mailbox, loose those pounds. And quit freaking me out because your coming up the wrong side of the road to get your mail.

Political correctness

Everything can be taken to far. Political correctness is just one of those things, for example. When I was a child equal rights and woman's lib were hot items in the press. All of a sudden you couldn't call a chairman who was a woman by that title, you had to call her a chairwoman or worse yet a chairperson. Now, I have to admit I'm a man, so perhaps I can't see the way this was hurting women. The woman had the position, the power, the authority why does it matter that the word chosen for this position was masculine? Did it make her a man? Did it suggest that it should be a man in the position? I don't think so. I think we know what the word means and I think it's just childish to demand that manhole covers become person hole covers and that everyone who plays on a high school sports team gets a letter, and fat people are just calorie intake challenged. I'm sorry was I ranting ? Oh right, that's what this blog is for.
